The orchard

Since the 19th century, CHERRY ROCHER directly cultivates a vast orchard of 6,000 cherry trees of several varieties at the heart of the Ardèche region.

Our in-depth arboriculture experience is beneficial for selecting raw materials purchased from different production areas. This ensures the origin and quality of all our products.

An arboreal heritage to be at one with nature :

The bilberry, or common bilberry or whortleberry, or European blueberry, is the fruit of the Vaccinium myrtillus, also known as the real bilberry, and part of the Ericaceae family.
This fruit has a slight vitamin C and B content.

  • Bilberry shrub

The Vaccinium myrtillus grows throughout Europe.
The Vaccinium corymbosum, also known as blue huckleberry, tall huckleberry, high blueberry originates in North America. The Vaccinium ovatum comes from Canada.

  • The fruit

For a long time, bilberry was used for its medicinal benefits.
It was administered for bowel problems such as dysentery.
It is also used for lowering the amount of blood urea and for improving vision.
The American blueberry was a traditional fruit held in high esteem by Amerindians, who consumed different varieties.

At Cherry Rocher, we make a Vin de Myrtille (bilberry wine) and a delicious Crème de Myrtille (bilberry crème) from the bilberries we harvest.
